During the Spring Conference 2011, attending members voted to adopt a multi-year membership program. We have accepted multi-year payments when offered in the past. This will offer a financial incentive in that every year offers a reduction in cost. It also cuts out the annual mailing to return the yearly payment. The new pay structure is effective immediately and will be announced in the Fall 2011 membership drive. If you wish to take advantage of this new program, submit accordingly;
Annual Membership $12.00
Two Year $22.00
Three Year $32.00
Four Year $42.00
Five Year $52.00
The North Carolina Highway Patrol Retirees Association (NCHPRA) is a non-profit organization for retired employees of the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. Retired civilian and uniform personnel are eligible. We are not affilliated with any other association. We have two conferences each year, a spring and fall event. Some of the out of state locations we have visited are Myrtle Beach, S. C., Charleston, S. C., Williamsburg, VA, Pigeon Forge, TN., and Gatlinburg, TN. There is always great food and fellowship. After we retire we lose contact with a lot of our friends and this is the place to meet old friends and make new ones.
The NCHPRA originated in Fayetteville, NC in 1989. A group or retirees came together wanting to meet in fellowship and keep up with the progress of the Highway Patrol and all of it's retirees. The first President was W. W. Porter. In the beginning, meetings were generally held in different restaurants around Fayettevile. Over time, a decision was made to have semi-annual conferences at various locations. What began as a small group, grew to several hundred. We continue to grow and prosper.
Our dues are based on the calendar year. Dues permit us to address the needs of retired and active members.. We keep you informed through this website and several mailings a year. Your membership helps us be a force on your behalf. We stay in contact with the North Carolina General Assembly and through the actions of your NCHPRA, we have been instrumental in getting legislation enacted that enhances the retirement benefits and other important issues. We need and request your support. If you wish to join or have any questions, please contact me.
